News - University Offers Support to Land a Job in Teaching and Education

People aiming to land a new job in teaching and education will be offered tips, support and networking opportunities at a free recruitment event run by the University of Plymouth this week.

Local authorities from around the country, employment agencies and teaching unions will be among the exhibitors.

Around 600 people are expected to attend the University's Recruitment and Education Fair tomorrow (Wednesday, 27th October).

It's open to students studying at the University or any graduates in the local area interested in a career in teaching or education.

Marc Lintern, Head of Employability at the University, said: "As the Enterprise University, we aim to provide our students with a diverse range of opportunities to engage with both local and national employers. The current graduate labour market is extremely competitive and we encourage our students to develop their employability skills whenever and wherever possible.

"The recruitment fair offers students and graduates attending a fantastic opportunity to research who is recruiting, where they are recruiting and what opportunities are out there for them.

"We have a number of specialist recruitment companies attending that work with employers nationwide, sourcing them staff to fill their vacancies."

The event will be held at the Gateway in the University's Roland Levinsky building, from 11am-3pm.
