News - Postgraduate Open Evenings at University College Falmouth

University College Falmouth press release

A wealth of information and ideas await you at University College Falmouth's Postgraduate Open Evenings, which take place early next month.  Whether you want to fast-track your career or enrich your understanding of your area of specialism, University College Falmouth can offer you an inspirational environment in which to develop your area of academic interest and research.

The first event - for those interested in Design at postgraduate level - will take place from 6pm to 9pm on Thursday 6 March in the Design Centre at the Tremough Campus in Penryn.  Prospective students will be given the opportunity to view the purpose-built Design Centre, which is home to cutting-edge design research and exciting new design business start-ups, and also enables students to experiment and explore the very latest in design techniques.  Course Leaders and current students from the College's MAs in Contemporary Crafts, Garden Design, Interior & Landscape Design and 3D Design will be on-hand to answer questions and talk informally about their courses.

On the same evening, Thursday 6 March from 6pm to 9pm, there will also be a specific event for prospective Media students.  Those interested in postgraduate study in Broadcast Journalism, International Journalism, Professional Photography, Professional Writing and Television Production should make their way to the Photography Gallery at the Tremough Campus where they will be met by Course Leaders and current postgraduates, and given a tour of the industry-standard Media Centre.  Falmouth's ground-breaking Media MAs will challenge and excite you, and help you develop a wide-range of skills to equip you for this challenging and competitive field.

The final open evening - on Tuesday 11 March from 6pm to 9pm at the Woodlane Campus Café/Bar - will focus on opportunities for MA study in Fine Art: Contemporary Practice, Creative Advertising, Curatorial Practice,  Graphic Design, Illustration: Authorial Practice or Photography, and again,  Course Leaders and current students will be available to discuss course content and give tours of the facilities.

"A degree is not always necessary to undertake postgraduate study - we recognise the value of professional experience - and we are always happy to discuss alternative routes into higher learning and research," says Director of Marketing & Student Recruitment, Jeremy Whitaker.  "We very much hope that these events will demonstrate the creativity and profile of our postgraduate community, and encourage people to come along and find out how postgraduate study might help to change their lives and career prospects, whether they have recently graduated or are returning to learning."
