First Graduates for Tournament Golf College
Tournament Golf College (TGC), which is part of Duchy College, is to see its first set of FdSc Tournament Golf graduates this year.
The foundation degree has proved to be a great success over the course of its first two years. Delivered in Cornwall and Portugal the course sets out to educate aspirational golfers who have a desire to play golf at the highest level. Students are taught for the autumn term at Duchy College, Cornwall, playing their golf at St. Mellion International Resort and for the spring term they spend their time in the Algarve playing the Pestana resort courses.
Whilst at Tournament Golf College the students are lectured on a wide spectrum of topics applicable to the business of playing elite level tournament golf, these topics include nutrition, course management, time management, performance practice habits.
There is widespread support for the course, reflected in internationally renowned golf Coach Darren Gass words, he said: "No golf coach, facility or education program, could individually achieve the full impact of the TGC. This course has been very well planned, has great support partners in both the UK and Portugal and has been established with industry experts to ensure its students gain the proper direction and range of life skills that would be needed to brighten any future, golf or otherwise."
Whilst describing her experience at TGC, Elizabeth Haycock, current FdSc Tournament Golf student and Warwickshire Women's County Champion, said: "Tournament Golf College is a great experience for any golfer who wants to become a serious player. I believe the course has improved my game and future development which I couldn't have done alone."
