Cornwall Innovators' Forum

Combined Universities in Cornwall press release

Leaders from 36 of Cornwall's most exciting businesses gathered for the Cornwall Innovators' Forum breakfast at Lanhydrock Golf Hotel near Bodmin on Thursday, June 25th.

Keynote speaker, John Potter drew on his background as a psychologist and his experience of hostage situations to give attendees a practical 'toolkit' for dealing with crises in their own businesses. John Potter explored innovative approaches to leadership and management as the keys to guiding a company through difficult times such as the current recession.

The event was opened by the new Combined Universities in Cornwall (CUC) Director, Dr. Sue Brownlow, who commented, "In the Innovators' Forum we have the beginnings of a vibrant group of knowledge based organisations with a wealth of experience and ideas to share, so businesses are arriving early and staying on at the end to network with one another. It is also great to see conversations starting between businesses and our partner universities and colleges, and I would like to think that some of these could lead to interesting collaborations in the future."

The next Cornwall Innovators' Forum will be scheduled for the autumn. The Forum is an informal network of innovative Cornish businesses, facilitated by the Combined Universities in Cornwall partnership.
